Endangered

This is a Hooker Sea Lion - one of the most critically
endangered animals in the world. There are only about
9000 left in the world - all of them in New Zealand.
Full grown he will be up to 3.5 meters long, and weigh
about 400kg. Right now he's only about half that. Young
males, like this one, are very playful. They will chase people
up and down the beach, or lay across tracks and wait for
people to stumble upon them (surprise!).
